Students and professionals who wish to learn basic or advanced computer skills. This course is recommended for students and professionals with strong independent study skills.

Computer Basics - introduces students to Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. With this knowledge and practice, students will be able to write papers, create charts, access e-mail and make presentations. They will also learn how to integrate all of these skills into one assignment.

Computer Pro - expands on Computer Basics by adding instruction in Microsoft® Access, FrontPage, Publisher, and Share Point Team Web. This is a more advanced training, which requires previous familiarity with computer terminology and hardware.

Teacher Training Programs

CSL offers teacher training programs for non-native ESL teachers who wish to specialize in a specific area of teaching English. The TEFL (Teaching English Foreign Language) Certificate Program is a 6-week program in CSL and is designed for the non-native teacher of English. Students are provided 20 lessons each week, including TEFL theory and methodology, classroom observation, and general English instruction.

Classroom Observation

Program participants will join classes at a local school and will gain practical experiences in a real classroom situation.

Participants will be involved in classroom activities and instruction as an assistant to the American teacher.
